On Sunady 13th August 2017 RCMOTT hosted its 4th On Road National at Hakim Juman Street Chaguanas. The event was named "Gear Up" and it lived up to that name as the driver had to get their cars set up for the tight track layout and uneven surface change a true circuit track experience.
In the expert class, we had 3 rounds of qualifying with Zameer Ramoutar dominating each round to walk away with as the Top Qualifier for the expert class. In the 40min final race Zameer would take a commanding lead leaving Steven Hosein and Jerome Gafoor to battle it out for 2nd and 3rd place. At the end of the race Zameer would emerge victorious with Steven finishing in 2nd place and Jerome in 3rd place.
In the sportsman class we had 3 rounds of qualifying which would be a lot different from the expert class as Jarod Johnson drove with confidence of the first 2 qualifiers but young Amir Fonrose would not have that, in the 3rd qualifier Amir pulled out all the stop and went for the win which made him the Top Qualifier for the sportsman class. In the 25min final race young Amir would have a bad start putting Jarod in 1st place Johnathan Lackhansingh would take 2nd place and Lyndon Ramoutar 3rd, but Amir was determine to get back on top and began plowing through the field to get up to 2nd place at the end of the race Jarod would finish 1st, Amir 2nd and Johnathan 3rd.
The results of the event is as follow:
- Zameer Ramoutar 1st
- Steven Hosein 2nd
- Jerome Gafoor 3rd
- Jarod Johnson 1st
- Amir Fonrose 2nd
- Johnathan Lackhansingh 3rd
